 "Butterfly Love"

 Directions

  1. Die cut letters out of yellow cardstock and ink edges of circular letters with sepia ink.
  2. Run all letters through Xyron for best adhesion to the metal mesh.
  3. Cut a strip of wire mesh approximately 2 3/4" x 7 1/2" and adhere to right edge of cardstock - about 1 1/4" from the top of the page.
  4. Ink edges of photo with StazOn ink and adhere to the top left of the page - just overlapping the metal mesh.
  5. Adhere letters to the metal mesh.
  6. Cut another piece of metal mesh approximately 4 3/4" x 3 1/4" and adhere to lower left portion of the page.
  7. Using StazOn ink, stamp Butterfly Square image 2 times onto watercolor paper.
  8. On the first image, color in all leaves with watercolor pencils then soften and blend with the water brush. Paint the butterflies with H2O's and blot with a damp paper towel.
  9. Very lightly, apply Distress Ink over leaves. Let dry then ink edges with StazOn.
  10. Take the 2nd stamped image and color only the butterflies with vibrant H2O colors, blending with water brush and blotting off excess. Cut out each butterfly and curl edges of wings with your fingers.
  11. Glue cut out butterflies in place over the flat butterflies on first image.
  12. Trim yellow cardstock to mat the stamped butterflies. Ink edges with Distress Ink. Adhere stamped image over mat then adhere over the piece of metal mesh near the bottom/left of the page.
  13. Trim another piece of yellow cardstock to mat the butterfly photograph on the right side of the page. Ink edges heavily with Distress Ink and adhere to brown cardstock.
  14. Adhere butterfly photograph at an angle over the yellow mat.
  15. Trim another piece of yellow cardstock big enough to wrap around the slide mount. Lay the slide mount upside down on the yellow cardstock and with a craft knife, cut an "X" in the center of the cardstock - the size of the inside opening of the slide mount.
  16. Wrap inside triangles back over the slide mount and tape in place. Trim corners of cardstock down to the corner of the slide mount. Then fold the outer edges of the cardstock over the back of the slide mount (trimming off any excess) and tape in place. Slide mount should now be perfectly covered in cardstock.
  17. Ink slide mount with Distress ink. Place small butterfly photograph behind slide mount and adhere.
  18. Adhere slide mount near the bottom right of the top photograph.
